Iguana Tranquila

The Iguana Tranquila is part art gallery, part gift shop, part historic landmark.  It is housed in the Casa Cambronero, former home to the legendary Cambronero Family, who for many years provided merchants and travelers with a very special place to stop and rest.

Known by many as Costa Rica’s Original Rest Stop, the Casa Cambronero has been reborn as the Iguana Tranquila

The Iguana Tranquila offers a unique selection of compelling art and gift items along with refreshments, friendly staff, and tranquil environment.

Unique in many ways, the Iguana Tranquila focuses on Ticos: their heritage, culture and artistic expression.

The Iguana Tranquila showcasesa variety of handcrafted art of Costa Rica’s local and indigenous artists.

Works include oil paintings, water colors, native masks, ceramics, jewelry, woodcarvings, sculpture, textiles and more.

The Iguana Tranquila is a “must stop” when traveling to and from the coast.  It is located on the Interamerican Highway 15 kilometers outside San Ramón just past the Cristo Blanco.

For those who have already fallen in love with San Ramón, the Iguana Tranquila also offers a Land Sales Office with advice for your investment or relocation in Costa Rica.

As with Casa Cambronero, the Iguana Tranquila’s doors are open every day, all year around, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
